A CANDID photo of one-year-old Prince Louis has got all of Britain gushing over the tot, with mother Kate, Duchess of Cambridge proving that despite the birthday boy’s royal status he could well be one of the most relatable members of the monarchy.
Yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released three intimate pictures of their youngest son the day before his birthday today on St George’s Day. The royal couple shared pictures of adorable Louis, younger brother to Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince George, five, as he rolled around the grass in an adorable jumper and navy trousers. The picture, by budding photographer Kate, also shows how down to earth the Cambridges are as a family as it shows Louis getting mucky in the grass like any other toddler.
One of the three sweet snaps also shows his first two front teeth have come through.
Louis received lots of messages from not only well-wishers on his big day, but also from other members of the royal family.
Pregnant Meghan and Prince Harry’s Instagram account left a sweet comment wishing Prince Louis a happy birthday on the social media site.
Sussexroyal, Prince Harry and Meghan’s official account, took to their Instagram account to comment in Kensington Royal’s post, writing: “Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us.”
The couple ended their message with an “xo” – meaning a kiss and a hug – an expression Meghan has used multiple times on previous social media posts.
Prince Louis – who is fifth in line to the throne – was born on April 23, 2018.
The Palace issued a statement, which read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share three new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow. The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk.”
Meghan, 37, who is around eight months pregnant, is expecting the arrival of her first child soon.
Meghan and Harry have moved into Frogmore cottage to prepare for the royal birth, after their new home underwent a £3million renovation.
The Grade-II listed property reportedly includes a nursery, a loft, a yoga studio, an elaborate double staircase and new grand fireplaces in several rooms.
There had previously been speculation the Duchess is writing the Instragram posts due to a perceived Americanised diction in the posts.
