Prince William and Kate Middleton are heading to the West Midlands, it has been confirmed.

The duo will head to Coventry – recently named UK City of Culture – later this month.

The royal couple will grace Coventry Cathedral with their presence on January 16.

But not all locals are happy about their impending arrival – according to our sister title the Coventry Telegraph.

Wills and Kate are gearing up for the arrival of their third baby.

They already have Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

But news of the visit has not been universally welcomed.

Here’s how locals in Coventry reacted:

Sophia Orman: “Perhaps they have a few spare rooms for the huge amount of homeless people in Coventry city centre.”

Glyn Williams: “I wonder what their visit will add to next year’s council tax bill?”

Ruaidrí Súilleabháin: “These people (I use the term lightly) don’t care about you. We are serfs in their eyes.”

Mark Fowler: “Sponging parasites.”

Lucas Ian Theo: “Me and my Mum will be there to get a glimpse of them both they are both lovely people.”

TheSickness: “A bit of felt came off my garden shed last night and some kind of bush also keeled over in the ‘monster’ storm.

“I can see no reason why Willers and Katie can not come round and fix these little issues – I am after all paying for their upkeep.

“They will need suitable clothing and footwear, I will provide tea and custard creams free of charge mind you.”

tiptreegal: “My problem isn’t with our Monarchy. They’re all that’s great about Britain these days.

“However, I do wonder what on earth Coventry has to offer, other than the harsh reality of homelessness, poverty and the results of Cameron’s Big Society.”
