Royally UPSET! Meghan Markle’s reaction to dad Thomas Markle’s interview REVEALED
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will “undoubtedly be upset” in the wake of Thomas Markle’s explosive world exclusive interview, according to a royal expert.
Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk that the 73-year-old’s comments about his son-in-law would be “unwelcome” to the Royal Family.
Speaking in his first TV interview since his no show at the Royal Wedding, Mr Markle on Monday revealed Prince Harry’s thoughts on Brexit and Donald Trump.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father also lifted the lid on the reason he didn’t walk his daughter down the aisle, before revealing the bizarre promise he made Prince Harry swear by before he married Meghan.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “Harry and Meghan will undoubtedly be upset by this.
“They will be unwelcome but it won’t be that embarrassing.”
The royal expert said the interview showed Mr Markle “obviously feels under strain”.
He said: “Thomas Markle is reclusive, his health is poor and he obviously feels under strain. It was an emotional interview.
“It is worth remembering that he was one of Hollywood’s top lighting directors but the job involved pivotal but background work.

Richard Fitzwilliams, royal expert
“He is retired and totally unprepared for media attention let alone the avalanche of global interest which accompanies royal matters but he clearly cares about his image hence the interview.”
Critics, including former royal butler Paul Burrell, have been quick to attack Kensington Palace for allegedly having no formal procedure to protect new members who join the royal family from the press and paparazzi.
But Mr Fitzwilliams said: “It’s easy to blame Kensington Palace for this but we don’t know the full facts, he may have been offered assistance which he declined.”
Mr Markle, a former lighting director, told how he was “jealous” as he watched a “handsome” Prince Charles walk his daughter down the aisle in Windsor.
He also revealed how Meghan Markle “cried” when she learned he would not make her May nuptials.
Speaking in his first ever TV interview for ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the American also shared details about his private phone call with Prince Harry, whom he described as a “great and interesting guy”, when he was asked to give his blessing to the wedding.
He said: “Harry asked for her hand on the phone and I said ‘You are a gentleman, promise me you will never raise your hand against my daughter and of course I will grant you my permission’.”
Mr Markle also revealed how Harry could be “open to the experiment of Brexit” as he discussed the UK’s decision to leave the EU with his son-in-law.
When pushed by the presenter about what Prince Harry had said about Brexit, Mr Markle described the chat as a “loose conversation”.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father said that the pair had: “a loose conversation about something we have to try. There’s no real commitment to it”.
When asked about the Prince’s views on the issue, Mr Markle added: “I think he was open to the experiment”.
