ROYAL wedding watchers had a big year in 2018 with two major events taking place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor – and Buckingham Palace has now confirmed another couple will wed in Windsor this spring.

Lady Gabriella Windsor is set to tie the knot with financier Thomas Kingston in the Spring of 2019. Buckingham Palace recently revealed the two will get married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, the same venue used by Meghan and Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in 2018. However, the upcoming royal wedding will be “very different” and reportedly not be televised.

A royal source confirmed the event would be for family and friend only.

This is very different from the public marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank whom all had their wedding televised for millions to watch.

While a specific date has yet to be set, Buckingham Palace has confirmed the wedding will take place in the Spring of 2019.

After the ceremony at St George’s Chapel the couple and their guests will reportedly continue the reception at Frogmore House.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said the venue had “personal resonance” for the couple.

She likely referred to Lady Gabriella spending many Christmases at Windsor and her grandparents, the late Duke and Duchess of Kent, are buried at Frogmore.

There is unlikely to be any carriage procession or members of the public invited into the ground of Windsor Castle.

However, high profile members of the royal family are expected to attend the nuptials this spring.

Lady Gabriella Windsor is closely related to the Queen, as her father is the monarch’s cousin.

But although closely related, Queen Elizabeth II did not attend the wedding of Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick Windsor, who tied the knot with Sophie Winkleman at Hampton Court Palace in 2009.

But royal wedding watchers could see the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa attend.

Before Mr Kingston started dating Lady Gabriella, he and Pippa were a couple and appear to have broken up on good terms.

Both Mr Kingston and Lady Gabriella attended Pippa’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017.

Buckingham Palace announced Lady Gabriella and Tom’s engagement in September.

The statement read: “Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston.

“The engagement took place in August; Mr Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark.”
