PRINCESS BEATRICE got married in a secret ceremony at Windsor Castle today surrounded by just 20 guests and while it is known that the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Andrew were present, there is a question mark over the rest of the guests in attendance.
Beatrice was supposed to marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in May but their nuptials had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The ceremony today took place at the All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, just a short walk away from the Royal Lodge, where the Yorks live. The full guest list will be kept a secret like many other aspects of the ceremony.
It is therefore unknown whether Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall ‒ whose birthday it is today ‒ was in attendance, and many will want to know, given how she was conspicuously absent from Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.
Eugenie and Beatrice were said to be “upset” that their aunt did not attend the fairytale wedding.
Camilla said she was pulled away by another royal engagement, attending a school event in Scotland.
However, there were suspicions that there may be another reason for her absence ‒ a decades-long grudge against the bride’s father Prince Andrew.

A source told The Telegraph in 2018 that the York family admitted they were “upset” by Camilla’s decision and the Daily Mail reported that many were “baffled”, even though the Duchess of Cornwall putting duty first was “commendable”.
One source from Scotland told the Daily Mail: “We are used to seeing the royals out and about.
“I don’t think anyone would have been too startled if the engagement was cancelled because of the wedding.”
Royal correspondent Richard Kay said: “Friends insist there is no calculated snub and it is just due to an unavoidable clash of dates.

A friend of the Duchess added: “[Camilla] is very fond of Eugenie and her sister Beatrice and is very disappointed that she cannot be there.”
However, Camilla’s relationship with Andrew is said to be a very frosty one and it is possible this impacted her decision.
A source told Mr Kay that Andrew was “deeply unhelpful” when Camilla was trying to gain acceptance as Charles’ partner in the years after Princess Diana’s death.

They said: “Looking back to when there was little public sympathy for Chales and Camilla, if not open hostility, it was a case of Andrew playing politics. Camilla hasn’t forgotten.”
Camilla also reportedly organised a shooting party at her Scottish estate for the same weekend as Eugenie’s wedding, despite knowing the date around eight months in advance.
A source told The Telegraph in 2018: “The truth is that Camilla has a house party for a few friends.
“They are arriving on Friday and will be there over the weekend.
This is a modal window.
“It’s hard to see her turning down the invitation as anything other than a snub, but she insists she had other engagements that she was invited to first.”
Unlike Eugenie’s wedding, which had 850 guests watching in St George’s Chapel, Beatrice had just a tight-knit group of people.
Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming the wedding this morning.

It read: “The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17 July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor.
“The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family.
“The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant government guidelines.”
