PRINCE HARRY has a reputation as the rebel in the Royal Family but once he even went “Full Monty-style” and stripped off at a family event leaving his father Prince Charles “visibly shocked”, according to an unearthed biography.
Harry has often been cast as the naughtier royal while his older sibling Prince William is perceived as the more sensible, dutiful brother. Many commentators have compared the two to their parents, especially as their late mother Princess Diana was known to frequently break royal protocol. Vogue reported in 2016 that Diana had even said: “Harry’s the naughty one, just like me.” In her 2018 biography, ‘Harry: Conversations with the Prince’, author Angela Levin revealed how Harry shocked his father with his reckless behaviour when he was only 14.
At the end of July 1998, Harry and William threw their father a surprise 50th birthday party.
Ms Levin wrote: “Charles was enormously touched by the trouble his sons had gone to and particularly that they had invited Camilla and sat her in a prominent place.”
As it was only a year after Diana’s tragic and sudden death in Paris, Charles’ ongoing affair with Camilla Parker Bowles could have been a contentious issue but the boys made sure they met her before the party for their father’s sake.

Ms Levin continued: “The one embarrassment was that Prince Harry and William staged a mock ‘Full Monty-style strip’.
“Harry, then only 14, was said to have been so drunk that he didn’t just take off a few items of clothing as was arranged but stripped off entirely and ran around naked in front of the guests.”
One of the guests told Ms Levin: “Charles was visibly shocked.

“In fact, he turned crimson, but he told a group of us later that it was just teenage high spirits and he himself had done much the same.
“It was the only time in my life that I didn’t believe him.”
Harry continued to be a rebel throughout his teenage years and became quite troublesome while studying at the prestigious school, Eton College.
Ms Levin recalled: “He told me with a smile that he chose to be ‘a bad boy’ while he was there, and that he has ‘a naughty streak.'”

He confided in the author that “it was something my mother encouraged – be naughty, but don’t get caught”.
He then said Diana used to smuggle sweets into school in his football socks when he was at Ludgrove.
Apparently, he was always enjoying playing pranks too.
Ms Levin said: “Once he balanced a book above a door so that it fell on the teacher’s head when he entered the classroom and made his brother jump by leaping out from behind a tree during a cross-country race.

“William lost his concentration and as a result his chance of being among the winners.”
On another occasion, he went to the barbers to get his hair cut into the ‘skinhead’ style.
Ms Levin claimed: “The Palace had to request that the pictures were not used in the press not to use any photographs of him looking too much like a delinquent.”
However, royal commentators believe Harry became more responsible once he entered the Army in 2005, although he caused a minor scandal when he was pictured playing strip billiards in the nude in 2012 in Las Vegas.
