Royal SHOCK claim: Camilla Parker Bowles is ‘reviled and HATED’ in US as Charles turns 70

CAMILLA Parker Bowles is “reviled” and “hated” by the US public as she is held responsible for the breakup of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage, an American royal reporter has claimed.

The Duchess of Cornwall and the Prince of Wales appear as a happy and relaxed couple in the garden of their London residence in pictures taken to celebrate Charles’ 70th birthday today. The public perception of Camilla, in particular, has changed dramatically from the late 1990s when Britons came to terms with Charles and Diana’s divorce and the latter’s tragic death. After their marriage in 2005, public approval has slowly increased. However, Netflix documentary “The Royals” reveals that this sentiment is not shared across the pond.

She is reviled, she is hated

In it, American reporter Ashley Pearson unequivocally shares her opinion of Camilla.

She says: “She is reviled, she is hated.

“Nobody thinks she deserved to marry Prince Charles.

“We’re still angry that she made Diana cry so much, we think that she was a factor in their break-up.

“We hate her!”

Royal correspondent Philip Dampier also notes that immediately after Charles and Diana broke up, the British public “absolutely hated Camilla”.

However, in contrast to the American public, the British people are “extraordinarily forgiving”, says broadcaster Christopher Wilson.

“The royal family know this,” he adds.

He describes how their technique is to “stay calm – sooner or later people will come back round”.
