Royal FURY: Prince William’s ‘THUNDEROUS’ response to Kate Middleton jibe revealed
PRINCE William was left fuming after Kate Middleton and his ex-girlfriend Carly Massy-Birch came face-to-face.
Prince William and Kate Middleton met while at St Andrews University in Scotland, and were friends for some time before their relationship turned romantic. Prior to their romance, both William and Kate dated other people, which led to one furious confrontation with the Duke of Cambridge’s ex Carly Massy-Birch. Carly was William’s love interest before he fell for Kate and even lived across the road when they decided to just be friends.
However, the Duke was left fuming during a dinner party when Carly made a jibe towards Kate.
In 2011 book “The Making of a Royal Romance” by Katie Nicholl, the royal expert claims how a game of “never have I ever” left William “thunderous”.
The game “never have I ever” sees a group of people take turns in stating something they have never done – if someone in the group has done this, they must drink a shot.
“When it was Carly’s turn to play she announced, ‘I’ve never dated two people in this room,’ knowing full well that William was the only one who had because Kate was sitting next to him,” recalls one attendee of the party.
William is said to have “shot a thunderous look” at his ex before whispering under his breath: “I can’t believe you just said that.”
The party-goers are said to have been left “in shock” at the confrontation, and Kate is believed to have spoken to Carly very little since then.
The source said: “We knew they were together but it was the first time William confirmed his and Kate’s relationship in public.”
Prior to the argument, Carly is said to have already been “grating” on Kate due to her close living situation with her ex.
At the time, Carly lived across the road from William and could wave to him from her living room, somewhere the ex was said to have sat by the window and knitted.
Years later, all the complications from the beginning of their relationship are in the past as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoy their family life with three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The couple married in 2011, a year after announcing their engagement, and tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in front of millions of well-wishers.
