ROYAL FEUD: Kensington Palace launched ‘mole hunt’ over Meghan and Kate rift
KENSINGTON Palace has launched a hunt for the “mole” to try to discover who has been leaking reports of a “rift” between the Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
The two Duchesses have been subject to a slew of recent unfavourable reports including suggestions of “a ghastly row” at Christmas and a “falling out” before Meghan’s wedding. Just weeks ago, it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan will leave their Kensington Palace base for Frogmore Lodge in Windsor, putting more distance between themselves and the Cambridges. It had been believed they would join William and Kate in the Palace by taking over a lavish apartment.
Now, Harry and Meghan have become so uncomfortable with the barrage of stories, they are “determined” to stop them, according to the Mail on Sunday.
A source told the newspaper that Prince William offended Prince Harry by raising doubts about Meghan, and in particular the speed with which their relationship was progressing.
They explained: “The problem is that the Cambridges felt things had moved very quickly between Harry and Meghan.
“William in particular was worried and felt close enough to Harry to voice his thoughts.”
However, Harry was reportedly hurt by his brother’s comments, and defended his fiancé.
Prince Harry confirmed he was dating Meghan in November 2016, and a year later the couple announced their engagement.
They were married in Windsor on May 19 of this year.
Kate has apparently been saddened by the deteriorating relationship, and feels that Prince Harry has been “changing”.
An associate said: “Meghan’s a strong character and so is Kate, so it doesn’t surprise me there have been clashes.”
It comes after claims the couple fell out prior to the wedding after Meghan “b**ed Kate’s staff”.
Kate is said to have replied: “That’s unacceptable, they’re my staff and I speak to them.”
Another source told the Mail that a “ghastly row” developed between the two couples last Christmas after Kate attempted to explain Royal rules and etiquette to Meghan.
The Cambridges, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are said to be spending Christmas with Kate’s family at Bucklebury this year.
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan will reportedly spend the day at Sandringham with the Queen.
