PRINCESS CHARLOTTE, the only daughter of Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, shares one special connection with her school teacher.
Princess Charlotte went back to school last week, alongside other children in the UK as classrooms reopened following more than five months of closure. And while going back to school to start a new year, especially amid a global pandemic, can be stressful for children, Princess Charlotte will be comforted by a familiar face in the hallway – that of her teacher Lucy Lanigan-O’Keefe.
Ms O’Keefe shares a special connection to Charlotte in that she is married to the young royal’s godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee.
Mr Straubenzee has been a lifelong friends of the Duke of Cambridge, so it makes sense that he would be made Charlotte’s godfather.
Ms O’Keefe and Mr Straubenzee were married in July.
Their original plans were to tie the knot in April, but the coronavirus pandemic meant the couple had to cancel their nuptials.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were due to have special roles in the wedding party, serving as usher and bridesmaid.
The duo had to instead opt for a smaller, more intimate do as they said ‘I do’.
The big day was held at Chelsea Old Church in south-west London, and was attended by the couple’s parents.
It was also revealed that the newlyweds are now expecting a child together.

The Sunday Times reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge encouraged the union between Ms O’Keefe and Mr Straubenzee.
The duo have been photographed with the Cambridge family on numerous occasions over the years, most recently in January celebrating the Duchess’s birthday.
The couple attended a church service with the Cambridges in Sandringham, where they were joined by the Queen.
Mr Straubenzee has been friends with Prince William and Prince Harry since their school days.

Along with his younger brother, the foursome attended the Ludgrove School together and have remained good friends ever since.
Mr Straubenzee served as an usher at the Royal wedding in 2011 and shared a toast at the wedding reception.
He was also in attendance as an usher at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018.
It comes after recent reports that Prince Harry was visited by an old friend, Guy Pelly, in the USA.
Mr Pelly is said to have visited Harry and Meghan when they were staying in Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills mansion, not in their new Montecito home.
A source told the MailOnline: “They were kindly invited by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
“Despite what has been said about Harry losing touch with his old friends, he was keen to see Guy.”
Mr Pelly is a former nightclub manager, and has been friends with Prince Harry for 25 years.
