CAMILLA is in the driving seat as she takes on an important job that has stunned royal fans.
The Duchess of Cornwall confessed she had become a “very ancient trolley dolly” after working an event to aide the Royal Voluntary Service alongside West End star Elaine Paige. Camilla was at the RVS Big Trolley Push recruitment campaign to get more volunteers working for the NHS.
The RVS volunteers help older people to keep active and take part in exercise classes.
In hospitals, volunteers give companionship for older patients who are far from their families.
Staff have a range of responsibilities, including to help ease clients back at home after a hospital stay and to run trolley services.

Volunteers often go around the wards with newspapers, healthy snacks, drinks, treats, and other essentials to buy on hospital wards.
The trolley services also provide company for those who are struggling with anxiety and loneliness during their stay.
For the volunteers, it is a chance to meet new people, form bonds with patients and support patient languages.

Twitter users couldn’t wait to compliment the selfless Duchess for the humility and grace she displayed on the trip.
One said: “Thank you, Princess Camilla, for all of your hard work. I love following your posts, concerning all the charities you support, & people you help. Thank you.”
Another replied: “I have greatly warmed to the Duchess since her marriage to Charles. Lots of marriages contend with “the one that got away”. For Charles, Diana, and Camilla, it was just very public. We were only told what they allowed us to know. I think she has grown.”
