MEGHAN Markle is due to give birth to her royal baby any day now – perhaps as soon as TODAY – and the Duchess of Sussex has been “very clear about what she wants” to happen during her labour, a royal source has claimed.

NHS Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey – which is 30 minutes from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Frogmore Cottage – is reportedly on standby. And excited mother-to-be Meghan is said to be planning to “stay at home for as long as possible” once she goes in to labour, but will be transferred to hospital immediately in the event of complications.

A royal source told The Sun: “It won’t be long now. Meghan’s really excited. Of course she’s nervous like any first-time mum but she and Harry can’t wait.

“She is taking medical advice daily and she and Harry are very flexible and will be guided by their team.

“When she goes into labour, she wants to remain at home for as long as possible but she’s in a situation where if something did go wrong and she had to be whisked to hospital, she would be.”

7pm update: Bookies slash odds on Baby Sussex being called Allegra

Ladbrokes have cut the odds on Harry and Meghan naming their tot “Allegra” from 100/1 to just 20/1.

The name is reportedly the moniker Princess Diana would have chosen if she had a baby girl.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati said: “It’s probably the most bizarre eleventh hour move we could’ve seen, but the money is coming in thick and fast for Allegra. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the name right up there with the frontrunners by the time the birth gets announced.”

4.30pm update: Royal fans convinced duchess IN LABOUR

Meghan’s followers were convinced the 37-year-old had gone into labour after spotting a police escort earlier today.

A number of cars were seen driving through Chiswick, which is between Windsor and London, prompting speculation that it could be Harry’s wife on the way to hospital.

A source told OK! Online: “This morning we saw a load of cars being given a police escort through Chiswick.

“It could be a politician or something else but that’s the route Meghan would take if she had to go to hospital from her home, so naturally we thought it was her.”
