REVEALED: Why Meghan Markle and Kate wear DARINGLY SHORTER dresses when pregnant
MEGHAN MARKLE stunned in daringly shorter dresses during her Royal tour of Oceania with Prince Harry, and according to a maternity clothing expert, there is a particular reason why both the Duchess of Sussex and Kate Middleton started opting for reduced hemlines with eye-popping leg flashes when pregnant.
The former Suits actress announced her pregnancy ahead of her 16-day landmark tour to the Pacific, with Kensington Palace disclosing the Royal baby will be born in the Spring of 2019.
Even though Meghan’s baby bump is still relatively small, the California native sported several outfits which highlighted not only her pregnancy but also her legs during her tour.
According to the founder of Kate Middleton’s favourite maternity brand Seraphine, there is a particular reason Meghan has now opted for shorter dresses, just like the Duchess of Cambridge did when pregnant of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Cecile Reinaud explained to Instyle: “She’s likely to have quite a big bump because she’s quite a petite build …
o highlighting legs and arms is always a good trick to keep a nice silhouette.
“Kate did go shorter for sure.
“She went shorter, on a couple of occasions well above her knee, which she never does normally.
“And especially in winter, because when she wore opaque black tights, it looks okay.
“It doesn’t look too much because it’s not bare legs.”
Meghan’s fashionable style started going more “revealing” when she arrived in New Zealand for the final leg of her tour with Prince Harry last week.
The Duchess sported a revealing black knee-length dress, which flashed her thighs as she walked down from the aeroplane.
The gown was the ASOS’s maternity “Wiggle Dress”, which can be bought online for the modest price of £35.
However, it was not the affordable price that raised eyebrows among Royal commentators but its high-cut hemline as it was feared she might have broken Royal protocol.
But according to the founder of Beaumont Etiquette Myka Meierm, Meghan is constantly surrounded by a Royal team who hand-pick her clothes to make sure she does not break the monarchy’s traditions.
Ms Meier told Elle.com: “They would not have given her the option to do something disrespectful.
“She has an entire team of aides that call in pieces.
“They would have pulled appropriate pieces.
“The Palace is very involved in what she wears and her presentation.
“And of course she has the final say, but there wouldn’t have been any of her breaking rules.”
