REVEALED: The toe-sucking photo that kicked Sarah Ferguson out of the Royal Family

PRINCE Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are set to put on a united front for Princess Eugenie’s wedding, 26 years after the explosive picture emerged of the Duchess of York having her toes sucked by John Bryan.

The infamous photo, taken in 1992, shows the Duchess of York lying on a sun lounger while having her toes kissed and sucked by Mr Bryan, her financial adviser.

It was one of a number of shocking photos taken while the pair were on holiday in France, including Sarah sunbathing topless.

The embarrassing scandal happened months after Sarah and Andrew announced plans to separate, six years after they wed in 1986.

Andrew and Sarah, who are parents to Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, went on to divorce in 1996.

But the pair, both 58, have kept a close friendship despite the outrageous picture, previously describing themselves as the “world’s happiest unmarried couple”.

Sarah was at Balmoral with other members of the royal family when the picture came out.

The Queen’s husband Prince Philip has not forgiven Sarah for the incident.

The picture is believed to have finalised the breakdown of Sarah and Andrew’s marriage and the Duchess’ departure from the Royal Family.

Speaking on ITV’s The Royal Wives of Windsor, which aired earlier this year, royal biographer Penny Junor said: “She was famously photographed with her financial advisor and she was wearing a bikini in some garden in the south of France and he appeared to be sucking her toes.

“She was at Balmoral when those photographs came out. The family came down for breakfast and there was Fergie in this shocking scene and that was the end.”

And royal commentator Dickie Arbiter said: “Okay you don’t expect somebody to crawl through the bushes to take photographs of you topless while your financial advisor is sucking your toes.

“You don’t expect that but by the same token you don’t go away with somebody that isn’t your husband and sunbathe topless.”

The photo has resurfaced just days before Eugenie is set to marry long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, the same location that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed earlier this year.

The service will take place at 11am on Friday.

Sarah and Andrew will be among 800 guests expected to attend the ceremony, with 1,200 members of the public invited to the grounds of Windsor Castle to enjoy the special day.

Other members of the royal family, including the Queen, are believed to be attending Eugenie’s wedding.

But Prince Charles will not be joined by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as it was revealed last week that she is unable to make the day due to a prior engagement.

Following the wedding service, the newlyweds will take a carriage ride through Windsor.

The Queen is hosting an afternoon reception at Windsor Castle and an evening reception is reportedly being held at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, Sarah and Andrew’s home.
