REVEALED: Prince George has an ADORABLE nickname for his grandfather Prince Charles
PRINCE GEORGE, 5, has a very sweet nickname for his grandfather, Prince Charles, which is touchingly similar to the nickname the Queen had for her own grandfather, George V.
The young prince apparently calls the Prince of Wales ‘Grandpa Wales’ when they are together.
The Queen had a very similar nickname for the King as a child – ‘Grandpa England’.
But the Prince of Wales’ sweet relationship with George goes beyond adorable nicknames.
For example, he put in a plantation of trees at Birkhall, his highland home near Balmoral, to mark the birth of his first grandchild.
He told the Daily Mail: “It will be quite amusing for him, I hope, as they grow up and he grows up.”
He also explained that whilst his sons have created new charity networks, he hopes that one of his grandchildren, maybe George, will one day take on the stewardship of his own.
Prince Charles is known for caring about issues that will affect future generations.
He has campaigned for 40 years on environmental issues, such as climate change and plastic waste.
He said: “I would be optimistic if we would just stop b*****ing about with the planet.
“I just worry about the sort of world my grandchildren are going to live in.”
He added: “I don’t know if my work has made any difference, but I had to say something.”
He is also close to the rest of his family, reportedly living a more settled life with thanks to Camila, Duchess of Cornwall.
The two have light banter as they travel along the Heart of Wales Railway Line.
Charles said: “What I love about this is the clackety-clack, clackety clack.”
The Duchess chimed in: “It sends me to sleep.”
