THE QUEEN is relieved to hear rumours of a rift between Meghan Markle and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge have now been put to bed, according to an alleged Royal insider.
The source spoke to US publication Us weekly. They claimed the Duchesses put their alleged differences aside over the festive period at Sandringham. The Queen is apparently grateful because “she’d reached her limit with all the drama”.
Of Her Majesty, the insider said: “She’d reached her limit with all the drama.
“She desperately wanted Meghan and Kate to make-up and she got her wish.”
The source claimed Meghan and Kate, who appeared to be amicable on the annual Christmas walk to Church, spent plenty of time with each other over the Christmas holidays.
They added: “Being under the same roof meant that they couldn’t avoid each other.”
The rumours circulating about the Duchesses of Sussex and Cambridge included a claim Kate was left in tears at a bridesmaid dress fitting for Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in May.
In a highly unusual move, Kensington Palace responded to the rumours.
They said in a rare statement: “This never happened.”
The rumours were fuelled by further claims Meghan was difficult to handle and had been branded as “Duchess difficult” by Palace staff.
The Duchess reportedly bombarded staff with regular calls and emails from as early as 5am in the morning.
However, despite the rumours, Kate and Meghan are thought to have enjoyed a few days together at the Queen’s Royal estate in Norfolk over Christmas and Boxing Day.
The Sun also reported the two ladies enjoyed a pleasant game of Scrabble together.
An insider said: “If German and British troops could put their differences to one side to play football during World War One, the feeling was Kate and Meghan could follow suit for Scrabble.
“After watching the Queen’s speech, the board games were brought out and both women got stuck in.
“Pregnant Meghan wasn’t drinking but Kate had a glass of wine or two, and everyone was in great spirits.
“They were chuckling along together.
“You wouldn’t know there was any tension between the two. It was a wonderful day and night.”
