KATE MIDDLETON is a fully-fledged member of the Royal Family, but before she even knew who Prince William was, Kate’s family paid a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William married in May 2011, after meeting at the University of St Andrews in 2001. Now the pair have three children, and William is second in line to the throne, meaning one day Kate could become Queen Consort. Her life as a Royal Family member is a million miles away from her upbringing in Berkshire, but her parents did give a nod to royalty when Kate was born.
Kate Middleton was born on January 9, 1982, in Royal Berkshire Hospital, to parents Carole and Michael.
Her full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, and her middle name may have been a tribute to the monarch.
Queen Elizabeth II herself was named after her mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, whose full name was Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon.
Queen Elizabeth II’s full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.

Catherine gained the nickname Kate during her teenage years, however, William often refers to his wife as “Catherine” in interviews.
When Prince William becomes king, Kate’s official title would become Her Majesty Queen Consort Catherine VI.
Royal expert Adam Helliker once claimed in 2008 Kate had requested her friends start calling her “Catherine” instead of the more casual “Kate”.
Mr Helliker said this request came during her relationship with William, in case the couple married and she would begin life as a royal.

However, in 2017, during an interview on BBC Radio 1, Kate said she was not familiar with Cath, which is how Prince Harry once referred to her.
BBC radio host Scott Mills asked her: “I heard a podcast with Harry recently and he refers to you as ‘William and Cath’ and that really confuses me.
“Because everyone else calls you Kate. The press calls you Kate. Is it a thing just in the family?”
The Duchess answered: “Well, I am not sure. I am not that familiar with that [Cath], I have to say.

“But I’ll answer to most things, to be honest.”
Prince William’s full name is William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor, and his middle names have influenced his children’s.
The Cambridge children have very royal names, and Princess Charlotte even shares a middle name with her mother.
Prince George’s full name is George Alexander Louis, Princess Charlotte’s is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and Prince Louis’, Louis Arthur Charles.
