Queen Camilla: Duchess WILL be Queen – but won’t be crowned with Charles

CAMILLA, the Duchess of Cornwall will be Queen according to a royal researcher who has explained she may not receive the title or a coronation.

The Duchess of Cornwall, 72, will be by Prince Charles’ side when he becomes the King of England but royal experts have debated as to whether Camilla will become Queen as she married Prince Charles in a 2005 civil ceremony. Many people have thought Camilla won’t receive the title because of public perception. Royal researcher Bob Morris explained that she will be Queen but may not be crowned at the same time as Charles. Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Morris said: “She will be Queen, how she is described is another matter. “I think Kensington Palace reasonably denied that she will be known as Queen but in law she is Queen. “Whether or not she is crowned with Prince Charles when he becomes King is not the necessary thing. “The law was decided in 1820 and the Queen had no right to a coronation.

Camilla and Prince Charles had been divorced previously (Image: GETTY) “Charles may or may not prefer for her to keep a more low-key title like, Queen consort.” Another theory suggests Camilla would not officially become Queen due to public perception. According to the Constitution Unit at UCL’s School of Public Policy, public opinion plays a role in Camilla’s current title. They suggested it will likely do so in the future.

He said: Mr Harrold said: “Prince Charles made it very clear that when he was King, she’d be Princess Consort. In fact, the Palace actually stated that. He added: “But recently somebody told me they’ve taken that away and it created speculation as to whether when the prince becomes the King, will she then be the Queen? “It is very difficult to say because as you can see with the downfall with the expenses, the public has very strong opinion and views.” Source: EXPRESS CO UK
