PRINCE GEORGE turned seven-years-old today and to mark the special occasion Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William shared two adorable new photos of the young royal – but the images could prove Princess Charlotte prefers the spotlight.
Prince George, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s eldest child, celebrates his seventh birthday today and released two new adorable pictures of the child to mark his special day. But the images suggest George’s younger sister, Princess Charlotte, five, much prefers being in the spotlight.
Kensington Palace released two new pictures of the birthday boy late last night, both of which were taken my mum, Kate.
The first portrait shows Prince George smiling directly at the camera, as he wears a brown polo shirt and grey denim trousers.
The second image is a slightly more candid snap, as the young royal stands sideways on while wearing a green khaki t-shirt.
But it is noticeable that just two images of the Cambridge’s eldest child were shared – compared to five which were released to mark Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday on May 2.

As fewer images were shared on George’s special day, it could be interpreted that he is more camera shy than his younger sister.
It has previously been suggested that Charlotte is much more confident than her elder brother.
Last year a royal insider told People magazine: “George is more reserved, and Charlotte is more outgoing.
“Maybe it’s because he’s the heir and one day he might be King.”

The children’s different personalities can also be seen in the recent pictures shared to mark each of their royal’s birthdays.
Prince Louis appeared cheeky and playful in the six images shared to mark his second birthday, which occurred near the start of the coronavirus lockdown.
Charlotte’s birthday snaps were very natural, with the young royal appearing unfazed by her mother taking photographs of her.
The five images released to mark her birthday showed the young royal delivering food packages to isolated pensioners during the coronavirus lockdown.

The pictures of Prince George are more posed and he appear quite reserved, as he stands sideways on to the camera in one of the images.
Charlotte’s outgoing nature has been highlighted in previous royal outings, such as during the Sandringham Christmas Day service last year – the first time Charlotte and George attended Church with their parents.
Videos from the event show Charlotte was happy to go and speak to royal well-wishers and even gave a hug to one member of the crowd.

Prince George also went to speak to members of the public alongside his father, but appeared more shy.
Similarly, when the children attended their parents’ charity sailing race last August, Charlotte was picture playfully sticking out her tongue and enjoying the occasion.
