Princess Eugenie’s wedding will echo Sarah Ferguson’s with THIS – how do they compare?
Princess Eugenie’s wedding is taking place this Friday, 32 years after her parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew tied the knot. The two weddings have some similarities, with Eugenie and Jack echoing many aspects of the Duke and Duchess of York’s.
Princess Eugenie, 28, is getting married tomorrow to her fiance Jack Brooksbank.
The wedding will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, 25 miles from central London and the place where her parents got married.
But while the venues are different, there are many aspects of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s wedding day that Eugenie and Jack are echoing.
From the wedding party to the dress, how does Eugenie’s wedding compare to Sarah’s?

The wedding party
Eugenie has followed in the footsteps of her mother, and many royal brides before her, by having young members of the family as bridesmaids.
When Sarah and Andrew tied the knot, Zara Philips was part of Fergie’s bridal party.
Many years later and Eugenie will have Zara’s daughter, Mia Tindall, as one of her bridesmaids, a sweet nod towards the bridal party of her mother’s.
Groom-to-be Jack is also following royal tradition and copying Prince Andrew for the big day.
Just like Andrew, who had Prince Edward as his best man, Jack will have his brother, Tom, as his best man.
While Sarah herself didn’t have a maid of honour, Eugenie will have her sister Beatrice by her side.
Another aspect Eugenie has taken from her mother’s wedding is the wedding dress.
Eugenie will wear a dress designed by a British designer, a fact she revealed during an interview with British Vogue earlier this year.
A British designer also created the Duchess of York’s dress 32 years ago.
Sarah’s iconic gown was designed by British couturier and fashion designer Lindka Cierach.
The dress was ivory silk and featured delicate beadwork representing different aspects of the couple’s lives, from their romance to Andrew’s naval career to Sarah’s family crest.
Eugenie and Jack have managed to keep many other details of their wedding under wraps, releasing only a few details to the public.
One thing Eugenie has been doing in the run-up to her wedding is slimming down.
This famously echoes the strict diet her mother has spoken out about, proclaiming she had to lose “26 pounds to fit into it”.
Eugenie has also been sporting a slimmed-down figure in recent weeks, revealing her hectic workout regime.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar back in 2016, she detailed the work out she typically takes on, which she could be replicating now.
