PRINCESS EUGENIE’S sister Beatrice could be forced to delay an engagement if Eugenie gets pregnant, if a protocol also forced upon the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret is followed.
Ever since Princess Eugenie tied the knot with long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, royal fans have been eagerly waiting for news of a pregnancy. At the same time, Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice is getting serious with boyfriend Edoardo “Edo” Mapelli Mozzi, who she met in September last year. Speculations about an engagement between the two have recently surfaced, but the 31-year-old could be forced to delay sharing the joyous news if her younger sister falls pregnant. But why?
In the Royal Family there are countless protocols to be followed, even when it comes to sharing news with the public.
Princess Beatrice may fall victim of one tradition that Queen Elizabeth II’s sister also experienced.
Princess Margaret, who died in 2002, had a turbulent love life and countless dead-end relationship during her life.
However, she finally found love with Antony Armstrong-Jones, a relationship of which the Queen approved.

When the pair became engaged in 1960, Margaret wanted to make an official announcement.
However, the Queen reportedly asked her younger sister to delay sharing the news of her marriage until after the birth of Prince Andrew.
Prince Andrew was born on February 19, 1960 and a week later, on February 26, 1960, the engagement of Princess Margaret to Mr Armstrong-Jones was announced from Clarence House.
The statement read: “It is with the greatest pleasure that Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother announces the betrothal of her beloved daughter The Princess Margaret to Mr. Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, son of Mr. R. O. L. Armstrong-Jones, Queen’s Counsel, and the Countess of Rosse, to which union The Queen has gladly given her consent.”

The same delay could happen to Princess Beatrice if Eugenie falls pregnant.
But it could also be reversed – if Beatrice becomes engaged at the same time Eugenie gets pregnant, the two sisters may decide between them how long one of them will wait to go public with the news.
The Queen’s decision to have Margaret wait to announce her engagement is not a rule, but a protocol and tradition to encourage the royals not to steal each other’s spotlight.
It will be up to the York sisters to decide how and if they will consider this.

An engagement between Princess Beatrice and Edo is currently seeing odds at 5/2 to be announced this year, according to Ladbrokes.
Spokesman for the company Alex Apati said: “It looks as though Princess Beatrice will be the next Royal name to tie the knot, and we’re not ruling out an engagement as early as this year.”
Bookmakers have also slashed odds on Eugenie and Jack announcing baby news.
A spokesperson for bookmakers.tv told The Sun: “The odds of Eugenie and Jack sharing some good news soon have taken another plunge with the latest betting definitely suggesting there could be an announcement around the corner.”
