Princess Eugenie: Former stylist admits Sarah Ferguson has ‘strong’ influence over Eugenie
Princess Eugenie, 28, is the daughter of Sarah Ferguson, 58. Eugenie’s former stylist has revealed the extent to which Sarah influences the style of Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice, 29.
Princess Eugenie recently stepped out at Ascot on day 3 of the famous horse racing event.
Sarah Ferguson’s youngest daughter wore a £831 dress by London label Erdem.
She paired it with a flower embellished boat by milliner Sally-Ann Provan and a YSL clutch.
But the royal, who is ninth in line to the British throne, hasn’t always been so stylish.
Stylist Charlie Anderson was hired to dress Eugenie and sister Princess Beatrice in 2011 for a year.
Princess Eugenie is said to be strongly influenced by Sarah Ferguson when it comes to style
She was asked after the princesses were slated for their outfits at the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.
Charlie, who no longer works with the princesses, revealed the Duchess of York has a strong influence over what they wear.
“She loves fashion and has strong opinions on what the girls should wear,” she told People magazine.
“The Duchess looked amazing at Ascot, as did both of the girls.”
So what does Charlie think of Eugenie and Beatrice’s fashion now?
“I think they are mostly getting it right,” said Anderson.
I think they have got more daring, although they have both always been quite daring and they seem to be getting to know themselves better.”
She added the princesses are still compelled to follow royal rules.
“Remember, they do have to adhere to certain rules especially when they are with the Queen, like wearing tights.”
Will Princess Eugenie’s wedding be televised? She will marry Jack Brooksbank, 31, on 12 October this year.
Although there is much intrigue surrounding Eugenie’s wedding, it is not believed it will be televised, according to a royal expert.
The wedding is likely to be a “private” one which will not be filmed for television, said former royal butler Grant Harrold.
“This wedding probably be a private affair similar to Princess Anne’s second wedding as well as Princess Anne’s children’s weddings,” he told Express.co.uk.
Not all royal weddings are televised and on this occasion I don’t think it will be,” he said.
However, the public will most likely be able to see photographs of the occasion.“I am sure there will still be official photographs released soon after the wedding,” said Grant.
