On a pink card featuring a heart, the princess wrote: “Dear Granny Diana.
“I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day.
“I love you very much. Papa is missing you.
“Lots of love Charlotte xxx.”

Prince George, seven, opted for an equally adorable, if less colourful, card for his grandmother – who tragically died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
The third in line to the throne, wrote: “Dear Granny Diana,
“Happy mothers (sic) day.
“I love you very much and think of you always.
The entire Cambridge family
“Sending you lots of love.
The Cambridge’s youngest child, Prince Louis, opted simply for a colourfully painted heart which was accompanied by pictures of various animals.
It was signed by the two-year-old.
Alongside the Instagram post, Kensington Palace wrote: “This year Mother’s Day will be different once again.
Prince George also wrote his grandmother a card
“Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again.
“But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging.
“Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William.

The Cambridges out and about
A source told the paper: “William and Harry are as far apart as it’s possible to be — emotionally and physically.
“Their relationship is at rock bottom. William’s raging with Harry after the Oprah interview.
“He is so angry with him that it’s totally unthinkable at the moment for them to be happily reunited and stood together at the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue.
“It’ll take a lot of work to patch things up so they can put on a united front.”
