THE CAMBRIDGE children have been enjoying their summer holidays with mum Kate Middleton and dad Prince William, but are the royal children back at school? When do they go back?

This summer, Princess Charlotte and Prince George have been enjoying their school holidays, spending time with their parents and younger brother Prince Louis. The pair were spotted at the King’s Cup sailing regatta and also spent time on the Caribbean island of Mustique. However, the pair will now be getting ready to return to school and for Charlotte, four, the new school term marks a big change.

Prince George, six, will be returning to Thomas’s Battersea for year one, and this time Princess Charlotte will be coming along too.

This will be Charlotte’s first time at school, having previously attended nursery.

On Thursday, September 5, Charlotte will be starting in reception at Thomas’s Battersea.

She will be accompanied by her parents, Kate and William, who will walk her to school for her first day.

This will be a whole new experience for Princess Charlotte, but Prince George is returning to the £6,429-a-term school for his second year.

The school said in a statement: “We are delighted that the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother Prince George at Thomas’s Battersea.

“We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”

George will be looking out for his younger sister according to one royal expert.

“I’m sure he’ll look after his little sister and take great pride in showing her the ropes.”

One source told People that Charlotte is “so excited” about attending Thomas’s.

The insider said: “She can’t wait to be with George at big school.
