PRINCE WILLIAM celebrated his 38th birthday on Sunday, on what happened to be Father’s Day in the UK too. Did you spot the secret nod to the Duke of Cambridge’s father Prince Charles?
Future King of the UK, Prince William, turned 38-years-old on Sunday, June 21. His birthday has been marked by his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge by publishing two new photos of the Duke with their three children Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.
The gorgeous photographs were taken at Anmer Hall in Norfolk on Friday.
William has been staying at the estate with his immediate family during lockdown.
In one of the images taken by Kate, their children clamber on top of their father as he lies grinning on the ground.
In another, William and his three youngsters sit on a traditional tree-swing posing for the camera.

But we can reveal that this subtle choice was, in fact, a tender nod to the Duke of Cambridge’s father Prince Charles.
The old-fashioned swing they are sitting on was a wedding present from Prince Charles, who himself loved to play on tree swings with William and Harry when they were young children. So the choice of location for the snap is a touching nod from William to his own dad on Father’s Day.
The adorable tribute comes after it was revealed Prince William deeply misses his father.
The Duke of Cambridge has told friends today is “tinged with sadness” because he can’t see his father on his birthday.

William has reportedly had a “mind shift” about becoming the King one day, and has grown closer to Charles in recent years.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl told OK! Magazine: “I know that William has told his friends that he’s loved spending so much time with the children in lockdown, but that’s been coupled with the sadness that he’s not seeing his father.
“Charles and William have become much closer in recent years.
“In fact, I’ve been told by someone who knows them both very well that William has had something of a mind shift.
“Where the notion of becoming king one day used to overwhelm him, he’s now more than ready and has found common ground with his father in that.”
She added: “Their destiny is something that now connects them.”
The royals have stayed apart during the pandemic, and are located around the country at their various homes.
William has kept himself busy during the crisis with royal video calls, and in the past week, stepping out for his first public engagements face-to-face.
Prince William is the most senior royal in line to the throne who is not considered most at risk of coronavirus because of his age.
At his first face-to-face meeting with the public in months when he met ambulance crews in Norfolk on Tuesday, he confessed he was looking forward to being able to go to the local pub for a pint when it was allowed.

He also joked: “I’m worried about the waistline of the nation as well, with all the chocolate and cakes.
“I’ve done a lot of baking at home. Chocolate goes down very well.”
William’s grandmother the Queen is in the high-risk category at the age of 94 and is isolating at Windsor Castle with Prince Philip.
Prince Charles tested positive for coronavirus in March and only returned to official duties in person this week.
