One said: “William and Harry are as far apart as it’s possible to be — emotionally and physically. Their relationship is at rock bottom.
“William’s raging with Harry after the Oprah interview. He is so angry with him that it’s totally unthinkable at the moment for them to be happily reunited and stood together at the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue.
“It’ll take a lot of work to patch things up so they can put on a united front.”
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle shared their Royal Family struggles last month, making damning accusations that the Duchess of Sussex was denied help when handling her mental health and concerns were raised about their son Archie’s skin colour before he was born.
A statement released by Buckingham Palace has since said the family was “saddened” to hear of Meghan and Harry’s struggles.
The brothers had previously shared a very close relationship, epitomised when William confided in Harry the day before he married Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, in 2011.
The wedding sparked a frenzy in the UK, as royal fans filled London all week to mark the occasion.
In OK! Magazine’s special collector’s edition this month, the story of William’s pre-wedding nerves was told.
It revealed the brothers went out to chat the night before the historic wedding day, with the groom said to admit he was “terrified of fluffing his lines”.
The magazine also told of how Harry joked with William to try and calm his brother down before the big occasion as they were taken to Westminster Abbey.
As Kate made her entrance, Harry is said to have told his brother: “Well, she’s here now – and she looks beautiful, I can tell you that!”
Later, William and Kate shared their famous kiss on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
The Duke of Cambridge turned to Kate and said: “OK? Look at me, let’s kiss.”
William then shouted across the balcony: ”Harry! Your go!”
As the Cambridges approach their 10-year wedding anniversary, Queen Elizabeth II is set to reward the Duchess for their long and loyal service to both country and the crown.
Duncan Larcombe, a royal expert, spoke of how it was “impossible to underestimate just what an achievement this milestone represents”.
He added: “William and Kate have got through 10 years of marriage and royal duties without so much as a moan.
“Like any couple, they’ve had their ups and downs, their rows and tensions.
“But their commitment to the Queen and to this country has been unwavering… and the controversy over Meghan and Harry’s departure from the UK has made that even clearer.”
