PRINCE WILLIAM and Prince Harry fuelled a split between the Cambridge and Sussex households with a rivalry that “has always been there” between the brothers, royal expert Ingrid Seward claimed.

Speaking to Channel 5 News, Ms Seward said: “I think there isn’t a rift necessarily between the two houses but I think there is a rivalry.
“There has always been a rivalry between William and Harry.”
The royal author, who was a friend to William and Harry’s mother Princess Diana, suggested the differences between the brothers had not always been “unfriendly”.
But she explained the Dukes had failed to find common ground to continue working together at their foundation.
Mr Seward added: “Not necessarily unfriendly but I think it’s a shame they haven’t stuck it out together because they are more powerful as a unit than they are separate.”

Harry and Meghan to split from Royal Foundation says expert
The Royal Foundation was a joint brainchild of William and Harry, who used the organisation to promote their charitable pursuits. Kate and Meghan joined as patrons following their marriages to the princes in 2011 and 2018 respectively.
The charity announced the split in a statement on Thursday, claiming the decision had been taken following a review of the charity’s structure.
The statement read: “These changes are designed to best complement the work and responsibilities of Their Royal Highnesses as they prepare for their future roles, and to better align their charitable activity with their new households,” it added.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are incredibly proud of what they have achieved together through the Royal Foundation.”
Earlier this year Meghan Markle and Prince Harry relocated to Windsor after spending the first year of their marriage at Kensington Palace. The couple shared an apartment close to William and Kate’s.

Meghan Markle news: The birth of Archie helped reconcile the couple, Nicholl claimed (Image: GETTY)
Buckingham Palace announced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would receive their personal household shortly before the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Ms Nicholl said: “I certainly think that now Archie is here it has probably really helped to improve the relationship.
“William is over the moon that his brother is a dad.”
The two brothers allegedly fell out after William advised Harry that he was marrying Meghan far too early on in his relationship.
Ms Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight: “It’s absolutely the case that the brothers did fall out.
“I was told by a very senior royal source that actually they weren’t talking to each other at one point.”
