Prince Harry news: The subtle sign Harry and Meghan are done with royal life for good

PRINCE HARRY and Meghan Markle are officially no longer working royals, and one sign in their recent Instagram post suggests the couple will be leaving life as senior royals behind for good.

As of March 31 Harry and Meghan are no longer considered working members of the Royal Family, and therefore will not be able to use the word ‘royal’ in any future branding. The couple’s Sussex Royal social media channels and website will no longer be used, and earlier this week the couple wrote a farewell message to their followers on Instagram.

The Sussexes said they are “focusing this new chapter to understand” how they can best contribute to the global effort to beat coronavirus.

They wrote in the caption of their Instagram post: “While you may not see us here, the work continues.

“Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world.

“We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!

“Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.”

One particular aspect of their Instagram post is very telling about how the Duke and Duchess view their future roles within the Royal Family.

In previous Instagram posts, the couple have tended to write off with their formal titles, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

However, in their last post they opted to be much less formal, and simply signed off as Harry and Meghan.

In recent weeks, there have been other clues the couple has been keen to shake their royal titles.

At one of his final royal engagements, the Duke also requested to be introduced only as Harry at an eco-tourism summit in Edinburgh last month.

By opting not to use their royal titles, it seems the royal couple want to appear more personable and detached from the royal establishment in the future.

And by making the firm decision not to formally use their titles, it could also be said the couple is unlikely to return to their past roles.

Many royal fans have expressed the wish for Harry and Meghan to return to senior royal life in the future.

This remains to be seen, but a source told PEOPLE that despite the uncertainty in the world at the moment, the Sussexes are “positive” about their new future.

The source added: “It is exciting for them to mark the end of the transition and the official start of their new chapter.”

After leaving royal life behind, Meghan and Harry have emphasised they will be looking to carry on with their charitable pursuits.

While royal fans await more details on what the Sussexes have planned, it is not entirely clear how the couple will pursue their philanthropic interests.

But it is believed Harry will continue to champion causes such as mental health and support for military veterans.

Meghan is expected to continue to promote the causes close to her heart, such as women’s empowerment and education.

In her first post-royal project, Meghan has lent her voice talents to a Disney documentary on elephants.

Her fee for the documentary has reportedly been donated to anti-poaching charity, Elephants Without Borders.
