PRINCE HARRY reportedly felt ‘lonely and left out’ before he met his future wife Meghan Markle, a new documentary has revealed.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married in May 2018 and had their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, a year later. They had a ‘whirlwind’ romance after meeting in July 2016 and were engaged by November 2017. However, before settling down, Prince Harry was a well-known bachelor famed for his relaxed approach to life and enthusiasm for partying. That all changed very quickly when he met his future wife, though.
In 2019 Channel 4 documentary ‘Meghan and Harry – The Baby Years’ royal reporter Roya Nikkah said: “Harry and Meghan met on a blind date and Harry’s life changed forever.”
Harry’s biography Penny Junor added: “I think Harry was a little bit lost when he met Meghan.
“I think he felt he was getting older, and needed – wanted – to settle down.”
When the couple met, Harry was 32 and Meghan was 35.

Ms Junor continued: “I think he was lonely. And his brother and sister-in-law had a lovely cozy family.
“He loved the children, he loved raiding their fridge and spending time with them but he wanted that for himself.
“So I would say Harry was a little bit in the wilderness.”
Prince William, Harry’s older brother, married his university sweetheart Kate Middleton in 2011 after dating since 2003.

They now have three children together: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Ms Junor said: “Marrying into the Royal Family is an absolute mixed blessing.
“Some would say it’s a complete curse and I think it’s very difficult to fit it into what is a life of discipline and a life lived in a goldfish bowl that is what really was facing any bride for Harry.”
Meghan Markle was an American divorcee and already famous in her own right as an actress on the drama series Suits before she met Harry.

The pair were set up by a mutual friend on a blind date in Soho, London, and quickly began a serious long-distance relationship.
Harry would visit her condo in Canada and she would sneak into his Kensington apartment in an attempt to keep their romance a secret while they got to know each other.
Ms Junor explained what attracted Harry to Meghan: “I suspected initially he was probably bowled over by her physically, and I think he probably realised that they had similar experiences.
“They both came from broken homes and they were both interested in helping people, and the fact that she was a star already makes their life a lot easier in terms of their future together.”
Prince Harry’s parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, divorced in 1996 – his mother tragically died a year later in a car accident.

The documentary also explains that Harry had made no secret of his desire to be a father, but his previous relationships had not stood up against the pressure of public scrutiny.
The Duke of Sussex dated Chelsy Davy on and off for six years, and she even attended Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
He also dated Cressida Bonas, an English actress and model, who he met through his cousin Princess Beatrice.
Prince Harry also had some other rumoured romances, including some celebrities such as Ellie Goulding, Caroline Flack and Molly King, but they have often been described as flings.
However, Harry and Meghan have faced some criticism during their short relationship, with other members of the Royal Family – including Prince William – reportedly telling Harry he was rushing into a marriage with someone who didn’t understand the customs of British royalty.
There have also been many rumours of Prince Harry then cutting people out of his life if they did not accept his decision to be with Meghan.
