PRINCE HARRY would be made to feel in the shadows of his older brother Prince William by senior figures in the royal family, it has been sensationally claimed.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward has revealed on occasions Harry would be “completely left out” by members of the royal household when he was younger. Ms Seward, a veteran royal commentator for over 30 years, also claims it was made very clear to Harry that he was “number two” in the pecking order when it came to the children of Prince Charles and Diana. In a telling Channel 4 documentary, Meghan and Harry: The Baby Years, Ms Seward recalls an incident with the late Queen mother.
She told the broadcaster: “The Queen Mother used to say, ‘Come on William come and sit next to me’, and little Harry would be completely left out.”
The treatment of the then third-in-line to the throne made the Princess of Wales “anxious”, according to Ms Seward.
She said: “Harry has always known he was number two.
“And obviously Diana was very anxious that he shouldn’t feel that.”

Despite Diana’s best efforts to bridge the divide between her two sons, the treatment remained markably different.
She added: “Other members of the royal family were very conscious he was number two.”
Meanwhile the impact of the arrival of Harry is also claimed to have had a detrimental impact on the marriage of Charles and Diana.

Paul Burrell, a former servant of the British Royal Household and Butler to Diana, previously said cracks in the marriage were getting “wider and wider” after Harry’s birth.
The arrival of the royal couples second child had now provided the royal family “an heir and a spare”, meaning Diana’s job was now complete.
In the Channel 4 Documentary ‘Princess Diana’s ‘wicked’ stepmother’, Mr Burrell said: “I could see the cracks in the marriage between Charles and Diana getting wider and wider, Diana confided in me that on the night Harry was born, she cried herself to sleep.
“She says I knew my marriage was over and the Prince told the Princess that his duty was now done.
“He had provided the country with an heir and a spare and he could now resume his relationship with Ms Parker Bowles.“
Charles and Diana eventually separated in November 1992 with Diana claiming in a bombshell BBC interview there was “three of us in the marriage so it was a bit crowded”.
