PRINCE HARRY has spoken candidly about his son, Archie, in an interview featured in the September issue of Vogue, which his wife Meghan Markle has guest edited.

Meghan Markle was revealed as the guest editor of British Vogue’s September issue this week, where she decided to shine the spotlight on 15 female change makers. But they aren’t the only ones to feature in the special edition, with Prince Harry also making an appearance. In an interview with Jane Goodall, the conservationist, the Duke revealed what one of his biggest fears are concerning son Archie.

Harry was interviewed at his home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, with questions and answers printed in Vogue’s newest issue.

When speaking to Dr Goodall, Harry revealed that he was “terrified” of the environmental pressures facing the planet.

He said: “What we need to remind everybody is: these are things that are happening now.

“We are already living in it.

“We are the frog in the water and it’s already been brought to the boil.

“Which is terrifying.”

Dr Goodall responded: “Happening and happened. It is terrifying.

“Especially as you’ve just had a baby.”

The Duke replied: “It does make it different. I think, weirdly because of the people that I’ve met and the places I’ve been fortunate enough to go, I’ve always had a connection and a love of nature.

“I view it differently now, without question.

“But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”

Harry also revealed that he wants “two children, maximum” due to the environment’s current state.

He continued: “But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed.

“And, surely, as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

The environment is a cause close to Harry’s heart, having already taken a keen interest in helping to conserve the environment.

Each month, Meghan and Harry’s Instagram account, SussexRoyal, chooses to support a particular cause.

It is aimed to bring social awareness to a particular topic and the Sussex account only follows a handful of users which highlight the cause.

For the month of July, Meghan and Harry have chosen to raise awareness of the environment, inviting followers to make everyday changes to help conserve the planet.

The post said environmental change can only be achieved “together”, but conceded that “every little helps.”

The September issue of Vogue will be available from Friday August 2.
