Prince George’s new teacher sent a subtle message to absent Kate Middleton on the future king’s first day of school – but did you see it?
Prince George started his first day at school accompanied by Prince William.
The nation was watching as the four year old headed into Thomas’s Battersea – where there are lots of rules he must abide by – hand in hand with Prince George.
Kate Middleton was unable to join the future king on his special day as she’s pregnant and suffering from a severe form of morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum.
It was no doubt a sad day for the Duchess of Cambridge who was too poorly to see Prince George off for his first day of school, however, it looks like the Prince’s teacher – who Kensington Palace revealed is the headteacher of lower school – gave a subtle nod to pregnant Kate.
As the pretty blonde teacher met a nervous Prince George and his dad at the school gates, many pointed out she looked as though she was channelling Kate in her pink dress.
The number is a £250 L.K. Bennett ‘Amana’ dress in dusky pink, a designer and colour Kate is very fond of.
Commenting, one fan wrote: “I see that teacher who got herself in the photo with George and William is wearing a dress very similar to one Kate’s worn before.”
Another added: “I want Prince George’s new teacher’s dress to have a fashion effect similar to Kate’s wedding dress.”
The dress was very similar to the one Kate wore in Cornwall in 2016.
As well as the gown she wore at her sister, Pippa Middleton’s wedding in 2017.
Speaking to MailOnline, leading stylist Nicole Kerr said of the teacher’s outfit: “My first impression was that she had made a real effort, not least because at £250 this is a very expensive dress for a teacher to wear to work.
“Choosing LK Bennett was her way of offering a subtle compliment to the duchess.
“She clearly knew that this was her moment to shine but in a very understated way so as not to detract from Prince George.
“Equally it’s an unusual style and colour for a teacher of young children to wear – all it would have taken to spoil her efforts was one set of sticky fingers on the pale colour, or a gust of wind whipping up the fit and flare skirt.”
