Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s royal wedding outfits had sweet hidden details
Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s outfits at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding included adorable personal touches that nobody noticed on the big day, as the cute duo performed their bridesmaid and page boy duties.
The details have been revealed as George and Charlotte’s wedding outfits went on display for a new exhibition at Windsor Castle celebrating Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in May.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spoken about their special day in audio commentary for the exhibition.
Little George wore an identical copy of his Uncle Harry’s Household Cavalry frockcoat for the royal occasion, with the young Prince’s initials embroidered on his shoulder.
The letters ‘GC’ are sewn in gold thread on the youngster’s jacket.
The other page boys also had matching military uniforms which included their initials.
Speaking in the commentary, Meghan praised her husband for the touching idea. The duchess said: “Which I think is such a beautiful keepsake for them.”
Charlotte channeled the bride in Givenchy, with her tiny shoes by Aquazurra including her initials and the wedding date on the soles.
Meghan and Harry joked about their bridesmaids and page boys being on their best behaviour for the Windsor wedding.
Harry said: “We had 10 bridesmaids, page boys under the age of seven which everybody says is impossible to have them behaving, but they did it.”
Meghan added: “It was a miracle.”
The bride’s gown by Clare Waight Keller, artistic director of Givenchy, is the star attraction at the exhibition.
In the commentary, Meghan discussed how personal choices for the wedding made the experience feel “intimate” for the royal couple, despite millions of people around the world watching.
The duchess said: “There was a great level of detail that went into the planning of our wedding day.
“I think for us, we knew how large the scale of the event would be, so in making choices that were really personal and meaningful, it could make the whole experience feel intimate, even though it was a very big wedding.”
A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle runs until January 6 2019.
