The Duke of Cambridge said the little Prince loves to dance, something he may have inherited from his grandmother.

He said: “George is going to dance as well, he loves it.

“My mother always used to dance, loved dance.

“If it’s something you love, you do what you love and it’s very important, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You keep at it.”

Earlier this year, Prince William also confirmed: “My daughter Charlotte loves dancing.”

The Duchess of Cambridge said that Charlotte was taking dance lessons and “absolutely loves it”.

When Princess Diana was young, she studied ballet and wanted to be a dancer.

She reportedly gave up the dream because she was too tall to be a professional.

“If it’s something you love, you do what you love and it’s very important, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You keep at it.”

Her ballet teacher Anne Allen said: “She had dance in her soul. I realised the pure enjoyment that it gave her.
“She loved the freeness of being able to move and dance. I could see it helped to alleviate her emotional life.”

In 1985, the Princess of Wales and John Travolta famously danced together at President Reagan’s White House gala to the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever.

This event became so iconic that Diana’s dress from the evening was subsequently called the “Travolta Dress”.

Prince William’s revealing comments were made to Junior Frood, a teenager who tries to combat bullying through break dancing.

The Duke met him at Kensington Palace, and joked about his own skills, saying: “With break dancing I literally break myself.”

The Royals also met other Teen Heroes including 14-year-old Lily, a wheelchair motocross competitor who helps children like her access sport, and 16-year old Siena who works to support students with autism and learning disabilities.

Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were honoured to meet the Teen Heroes earlier this week at Kensington Palace and hear more about their incredible achievements.”
