Prince Charles warned he is ‘not equipped’ to sustain Royal Family after Queen

QUEEN Elizabeth could become the last serving monarch of the British Royal Family as Prince Charles is “not equipped” to take over, royal expert Clive Irving claimed.

Speaking to Sunrise, Mr Irving said: “He doesn’t have those qualities of earning what the Queen has earned.

“She’s got no constitutional authority but she has a very personal authority and she’s earned that by simply being a neutral and, as she grew older, a very sympathetic figure.

“Sympathetic for the nation in a kind of motherly way. She’s classless although obviously, she would belong to the very-high echelons of the upper class but she comes across as classless and warm and natural.

“Charles has none of those natural abilities. In fact, he’s shown he tends towards disliking criticism of any kind and has the habits of an autocrat so I don’t think that equips him for being monarch.”queen news elizabeth ii royal family

Prince Charles has been training to become the next king of England for nearly five decades and he has taken on an increasing number of roles over the years.

The Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall have spearheaded efforts to keep the Royal Family in the spotlight as the Queen remains mostly shielded at Windsor because of Covid.

The pair became the first members of the Royal Family to resume public duties at the end of the first lockdown in Summer 2020 despite Prince Charles having recently recovered from Covid himself.

Last month, Charles and Camilla even resumed travel abroad to represent the Queen at the 200th anniversary of Greek independence in Athens.

Despite the clear commitment Charles has shown to his mother and the Royal Family through the years, royal commentators have questioned his position as heir to the throne.

And following the release of the latest series of Netflix’s hit series The Crown, a poll showed increasing support for Prince William to take over the throne after the Queen instead of his father.

The poll showed support for “king” William at 40 percent over the 32 percent backing “king” Charles.

However, some royal experts have suggested the Queen may choose to step down when she turns 95 and make Charles himself her regent.

Newsweek Royal Reporter Jack Royston said in December he believes the Prince of Wales may take on the throne sooner than people think.

Mr Royston said: “I think she won’t want to, but realistically she will get to a point where she has handed over everything to Charles and then how do you look your son in the eye and tell him he is not going to be King?”

Commentator Robert Jobson echoed the forecast, saying: “I still firmly believe when the Queen becomes 95, that she will step down.”

Under a Regency, Prince Charles would wield the majority of the Queen’s power but Her Majesty would remain the official sovereign.
