Prince Charles’ Sweet Bond With Grandchildren George, Charlotte Evident In These Photos
Prince Charles shares a close bond with his three grandchildren with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Pop Sugar compiled a series of photos of the doting grandfather with Prince George and Princess Charlotte that prove how much he loves them. In one of the snaps, Prince Charles looks amusedly at Prince George while the youngster tells him something during last year’s Trooping the Color. Middleton, who was carrying Princess Charlotte, and Prince William were also happy to hear what Prince George had to say.
A few years ago, Prince George was still a baby and he was being carried by Prince William at the Trooping the Colour. He is pointing at something on the horizon, and Prince Charles and looking at him lovingly.
Prince Charles was all smiles while looking at Prince George during Princess Charlotte’s baptism. And earlier this year, Prince Charles also looked very proud of his grandchildren when they served as a page boy and bridesmaid at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials.
Other than these photos, Prince Charles has also opened up about his grandchildren during interviews. In July, the future king revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte visit him regularly at High Grove. And when he was presented with an oriental beech sapling for his beech tree collection, he joked about not letting his grandchildren get a hold of the item.
And after Prince Louis was born on April 23, he released a sweet statement during an interview.
“We are both pleased at the news. It is a great joy to have another grandchild, the only trouble is I don’t know how I’m going to keep up with them,” he joked.
But the same thing may not be said about Prince Charles’ relationship with Prince William and Prince Harry. When they were growing up, their dad had so many things to do that he couldn’t bond with them at all times.
Penny Junor, a royal biographer, explained to the Daily Beast, “That’s not a product of a lack of love. It’s a product of the fact that he is so focused on his work…”
