Prince Charles news: Hidden detail shows Charles’ love for THIS royal

PRINCE CHARLES is known lovingly by his grandchildren as ‘Grandpa Wales’. And in Charles’ recent appearance, royal fans spotted a major clue of his close bond with his eldest, Prince George.

Through his children Prince William and Prince Harry, Prince Charles is a proud grandfather to four royal children. On the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s side are Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Last year Charles also welcomed grandson baby Archie Harrison, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child.

Known to have had a close bond with his own grandmother, the Queen Mother, Charles was adamant to be an involved grandfather before the birth of his first grandchild.

He said: “It’s a different part of your life.

“The great thing is to encourage them. Show them things to take their interest.

“My grandmother did that, she was wonderful.”

He added: “It is very important to create a bond when they are very young.”

It was announced the future king has tested positive for coronavirus last month but has since recovered.

And in an address on the Clarence House Instagram account, eagle-eyed royal fans spotted a clue Charles has lived up to his pledge to create bonds with his grandchildren, especially his eldest.

Although partially hidden behind his shoulder, an adorable picture of Charles holding Prince George as a baby can be spotted.

Charles’ wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has also noted her husband’s fondness for his grandchildren in the past.

While appearing on the BBC documentary, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, she said: “He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing.

“My grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him.”

She added: “He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that.”

Sadly Prince Charles will not be seeing much of his grandchildren at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But Charles is keeping busy with a number of virtual appearances during this difficult time.

Charles is currently working from home at his office on the royal Balmoral Estate in Scotland.

Today a recovered Prince Charles announced on Sky News he would be opening the new Nightingale Hospital at London’s ExCel centre.

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William have also been playing their part in the UK’s coronavirus effort.

Kate and William spoke to doctors and nurses over the phone this week to thank them for their tireless work during the pandemic.

In an Instagram post on the Kensington Royal account, William is heard saying: “We’d just like to say from the two of us how proud we are of all of you and how amazingly you are all doing under extreme circumstances.

“I know all of you will see this as your job and that you get on with it.

“But generally this is a different level and you guys are doing an incredible job.”
