“Palace Insider” is then quoted as saying, “Her Majesty realizes that William and Kate are the future.”

Prince William, Kate Middleton Named Next King And Queen Of England?

Prince William and Kate Middleton have not been named the next king and queen of England, nor was there an “official announcement,” despite a wholly made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this fake news story. We’re told none of it is true, and there has been no change in the line of succession.

According to Life & Style, which has a proven record of publishing falsehoods about Middleton and Prince William, Queen Elizabeth has “shockingly tapped William and Kate to succeed her rather than her own son Prince Charles, who is next in line to the throne.” The tabloid further alleges the queen is “already putting her successors through training for their new roles as king and queen.” A seemingly made-up “palace insider” is then quoted as saying, “Her Majesty realizes that William and Kate are the future.”

The dubious royal “source” goes on to contend that the queen “has spent 65 years making sure the House of Windsor survives, and she sees William and Kate as having the energy and star quality to do the job in a modern world.” “Queen Elizabeth will always do what is best for the long-term health of the monarchy,” says the supposed “insider.” The highly suspect “source” alleges that the queen fears Prince Charles and his wife Camilla don’t have the public favor. “Elizabeth realizes the monarchy no longer has the respect and power it once had,” asserts the possibly fabricated tipster, adding, “In her eyes, William and Kate are the two people who can turn that around.”

The U.S.-published tabloid further claims that it was privy to a private conversation Queen Elizabeth had with Prince Charles “before she officially announced her historic decision.” The often disproven outlet asserts that the reigning monarch explained to her oldest son her reasons for denying him the throne, and he “reluctantly accepted them.” But things have become “a bit strained between William and his father since the queen’s decision,” contends the gossip magazine’s “source.” Charles’ wife Camilla, however, is “secretly thrilled by the queen’s decision. At 70, she’s had enough drama to last her a lifetime,” purports the outlet.

The publication then states that while Queen Elizabeth was initially not taken with her granddaughter-by-marriage in general, her royal highness now thinks “Kate has all the right personality traits to take on the role of queen.” Middleton, however, is “concerned about the added pressure on her and Prince William’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte,” says the tabloid’s royal insider. “Kate had wanted to keep a low profile for a few more years” before ascending the throne, asserts the questionable source.

Gossip Cop, however, is assured that the entire Life & Style cover story is more full of it than the royal stables. And it’s reporting stinks worse, too. Before noting what we confirmed with Kensington Palace, it’s worth mentioning that no real “palace insider” would ever refer to the queen as just “Elizabeth” or informally refer to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as “William and Kate.” Still, Gossip Cop reached out to a spokesperson for the Prince William and Middleton and we were exclusively told that not only was there no such “official announcement,” as claimed by the tabloid, but there has also been “no change in line of succession.”

Sadly, there has also been no change in the accuracy of the tabloid’s reporting about the young royals. The latest fake news is coming from the same outlet that Gossip Cop busted in October 2015 when it published a cover story falsely maintaining it had an “official announcement” that Middleton was pregnant with her third child. It’s also the magazine Gossip Cop corrected when it wrongly declared Middleton was pregnant with twins in April 2016. Curiously, the repeatedly discredited publication made no mention is its new article how it had printed a cover story six weeks that asserted it had an “official announcement” that Middleton was pregnant.

The outlet has simply printed one lie after another. And perhaps even more pathetically, Life & Style seems to have taken a page out of the playbook of the equally untrustworthy tabloids Star and OK!, which have similarly run cover stories falsely declaring that Prince William and Kate Middleton have been tapped to be the next king and queen of England.
