New doco shares a glimpse into Meghan Markle’s royal life

The trailer for the highly anticipated new documentary about the royal family has dropped, and it provides a behind-the-scenes look at Meghan Markle’s life after meeting Prince Harry.

Queen of the World is a two-part documentary looking at the work Queen Elizabeth II does and how the Commonwealth has become a focus and passion over the years.

One scene shows Duchess of Sussex, Meghan admiring her stunning Givenchy wedding dress and its veil which featured flowers from all 53 Commonwealth countries.

“Fifty-three countries, oh my goodness,” she says as she looks at the historic gown. “It’ll keep us busy.”

Earlier this week Kensington Palace shared details about Meghan’s first solo project as a member of the royal family, four months after she married Prince Harry.

Meghan is supporting a new charity cookbook that features 50 recipes written by women affected by London’s Grenfell Tower fire, and celebrates the power of cooking to bring people together.

The book – and the incredible women behind it – is something 37-year-old Meghan has been quietly championing for some time now, after she first began visiting a community kitchen frequented by the women in January this year.

Since the tragic fire that claimed 72 lives, a number of women began gathering at the Al Manaar Centre in West London to prepare fresh food for their families and neighbours, as a way of helping the community to connect, heal and look forward, and to convene through food.

It became known as the Hubb Community Kitchen – with hubb meaning love in Arabic – and they opened on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Meghan has continued to make regular private visits throughout the year.
