He added a message to his “amazing” wife, which read: “Thank you for joining me on this adventure!” Meghan turned 38 yesterday and Harry posted a picture of her to mark the occasion. “Wishing HRH the Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday”, the caption read, followed by a cake with candles emoji.
The post continued: “Happy birthday to my amazing wife. Thank you for joining me on this adventure! – Love, H.”
The photo Harry chose showed a beaming Meghan wearing a blue Veronica Beard shirt-dress with belted waist.
It was taken during the couple’s first overseas tour together, when they attended an event dedicating two forest reserves to the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy Project in Tonga.
A royal source said: “He loves this picture. She looks incredibly beautiful, relaxed and happy.”

Harry’s brother William and wife Kate also put paid to rumours of a rift with Meghan by sharing their own birthday post, writing: “Wishing a very happy birthday to the Duchess of Sussex today!”
No details were released about how the Duchess would mark her big day, but it was expected that she would be spending it privately at home with Harry and their baby Archie.
Also on Instagram was a post of from the official Royal Family account showing Harry and Meghan together.
The pictures received tens of thousands of comments from fans yesterday.

They included Meghan’s best friend, Canadian designer Jessica Mulroney, who posted a simple: “Happy birthday beautiful.”
Harry and Meghan have faced enormous criticism over the £2.4million of taxpayers’ cash spent on restoring their home near Windsor Castle.
A survey for the Sunday Express yesterday revealed that seven out of 10 people do not think the public should contribute towards the couple’s lifestyle.
Fifty-six per cent also thought they and other royals should keep out of politics.
The couple have raised eyebrows over their agenda on fashionable issues. Last week, Harry gave a climate change speech in Sicily to VIPs who had arrived on private jets and super-yachts.
