MEGHAN MARKLE’S Suits co-star has said that attending Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding was a “nightmare” for her.

Troian Bellisario, who is also known for her role in American drama Pretty Little Liars, said on Saturday she was worried about having to wear a fascinator headpiece at the high-profile event. Ms Bellisario said she had “extreme anxiety” about “those hat things”.

She said: “Fascinators. They look ridiculous unless you’re in the 1930s.

“You could get one that is an absolute piece of art, but then are you being too vain and trying to call too much attention to yourself?

“Or if you get a fascinator that’s very small, are you not going for tradition?

“I’d never needed a fascinator in my life, and here I was trying to walk this tightrope of ‘don’t go too big, don’t go too small’.

The actress added: “It was a nightmare.”

She also explained she was worried the British press would “tear her apart” if she wore the accessory incorrectly.

She said: “My stylist, Annabelle Harron, is actually an Aussie, and I called her right before I was about to walk out the door and I was like, ‘Annabelle, this is not a full hat.’

“And she said, ‘It’s fine, you have a veil, you have a head covering,’

“And I was like, ‘If the British press tears me apart, I can never forgive you for this.’ And she said, ‘Trust me, I’m an Aussie. I’ve got you!'”

Ms Bellisario attended the ceremony with her husband, Canadian actor and director Patrick J Adams.

At the time, she was pregnant, so she also worried her bump would be spotted and the truth uncovered.

She said: “I was trying to conceal the fact that I was five months pregnant.

“I was absolutely positive that it was going to be revealed.”

Ms Bellisario and her husband welcomed their baby girl in 2018, but they only announced their daughter’s name was Aurora a year later.

The pair met on the the set of the play Equivocation in 2009.

After a brief split, the couple reunited on the set of Pretty Little Liars in 2010, where he made a guest appearance.

They married on December 10, 2016 in Santa Barbara, near Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles.

Ms Bellisario’s confession comes as unearthed reports reveal what Prime Minister Boris Johnson thinks of the Duchess of Sussex.

When Mr Johnson was serving as a backbench MP in 2018, he described in a Telegraph column his “20 reasons to feel good about the world.”

In the article, he explained how Meghan had “provided a lot of zing and excitement to the Royal Family.”

However, in January this year he was asked about Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down as senior royals and Mr Johnson seemed reluctant to comment.

He told BBC Breakfast: “I think they’ll sort it out all the easier without any commentary from me.”

Mr Johnson added that while “everybody has got an opinion” on the subject, “the Royal Family is one of the great, great assets of this country and I’m sure they will sort it out.”
