MEGHAN MARKLE will try to make amends for the “PR disaster” created by her lavish baby shower in New York by having a low-key birthday party, a source has claimed.
Meghan Markle was harshly criticised earlier this year when she headed to New York in George and Amal Clooney’s private jet to celebrate the arrival of her baby with 15 of her closest friends at Manhattan’s most expensive hotel. So now she is likely to avoid partying with her A-lister friends and have just a small birthday party with her close relatives to avoid any trouble, according to an insider. They told The Sun: “Frogmore Cottage will host a celebration for Meghan’s birthday.
“The Clooneys clan will be in Villa Oleandra on Lake Como and the Sussexes will not want to be seen enjoying more of their lavish hospitality after the PR disaster backlash post the US baby shower.”
This latest claim clashes with one made by a different source who spoke to The Sun on Sunday and stated Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will throw a special tea party for the Sussexes in Scotland, at Balmoral, to celebrate Meghan’s birthday.
The source said: “The Queen and Prince Philip adore the couple and, of course, their new great-grandson Archie, and they have invited them to Balmoral for a few days.
“It is testament to Meghan that she has been given this invite. It’s a huge honour.

“They will celebrate Meghan’s birthday, and the catering team will bake a cake to mark the occasion.
“Meghan may be a Duchess who can have anything she wants but the Queen is giving her a thoughtful present.
“It’s no secret Balmoral is Her Majesty’s favourite home and that’s why this invite is so special and heartfelt.”
Meghan’s baby shower, a typically American tradition, took place on February 20 and closed a five-day long visit to New York, one of the Duchess’ most-loved cities.

The party was thrown by tennis star Serena Williams and attended by, among others, fashion designer Misha Nonoo, Meghan’s best pal Jessica Mulroney and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
The special guests headed to The Mark hotel in the Upper East Side for a lavish afternoon tea.
Meghan solo-trip is believed to have costed hundreds of thousands of pounds in accommodation, travel and party favours for the guests.

Despite the baby shower hasn’t been funded by taxpayers’ money, many accused Meghan of still behaving like a Hollywood celebrity rather than the Duchess of Sussex married to the sixth-in-line to the throne.
Whatever the Duchess has decided to do for her birthday, this Sunday will be particularly significative for her as it will be her first name day celebrated as a mother.
And she most likely will have her family all for herself, unlike last year, when she celebrated the wedding of Prince Harry’s close friend Charlie van Straubenzee and his bride Daisy Jenks in Surrey.

However, Meghan and Harry may decide to head back to her beloved US later this month.
The Sun source said: “Meghan is keen to visit the US with Harry and son Archie this summer before they head to Africa in the autumn.
“August is the ideal time to take this trip before they also head to Balmoral to join the Queen and Prince Charles.”

Meghan and Harry will head to South Africa for an official visit of the country later this year.
This tour will fall almost one year after the successful Down Under royal tour carried out in October last year by the Sussexes.
But will also mark the first official visit by Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor, who will be approximately five-month-old at the time of the trip.
