Meghan Markle’s dad fears Royal Family has ‘frozen him out’ after the explosive interview
MEGHAN Markle’s father Thomas Markle fears he has been frozen out by the Royal Family after he gave a controversial interview and disclosed private conversations about Brexit and Donald Trump with Prince Harry.
The reclusive former Hollywood lighting director turned heads last week when he revealed details of private conversations he had shared with Prince Harry and his daughter, Meghan Markle.
Royal officials were not given any prior warning about the Good Morning Britain interview which aired last week and Mr Markle fears Kensington Palace has now frozen him out.
When asked about the Prince’s views on Brexit, Mr Markle said: “I think he was open to the experiment.”
Senior royals, including Prince Harry and now Meghan, are expected to remain politically impartial.
The interview is said to have upset the Queen and infuriated Buckingham Palace officials.
There has been nothing from the palaces, which Thomas Markle is surprised about
The insider added Meghan’s father is worried the interview may have changed things.
When contacted by Express.co.uk Kensington Palace declined to comment.
Meghan Markle endured a turbulent entrance into the Royal Family with members of her family speaking to the press in the lead up to the Royal Wedding.
The Duchess faced a number of trials and challenges as friends and estranged family members came out of the woodwork after her engagement to Harry was officially announced last November.
And then days before she was set to walk down the aisle, Meghan was forced to announce her father had pulled out of the ceremony.
Her strength has earned the new Duchess an endearing nickname from her father-in-law Prince Charles, according to insiders.
Charles is said to have admired Meghan’s strength through it all and has affectionately dubbed her “Tungsten” because the new Duchess is “tough and unbending” like the metal.
The name might not seem warm and fuzzy, but it is said to have come from a place of admiration from her father-in-law and the name has stuck.
Another source said: “Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softie.
“It’s become a term of endearment.”
