Meghan Markle Will Likely Recycle Outfits Like Kate Middleton, Camilla, Expert Says
Meghan Markle will likely recycle her outfits just like Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles.
According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, the Duchess of Sussex’s wardrobe is worth millions of dollars and Prince Charles is footing the bill on her clothing. The expert believes that considering the price and quality of her outfits, Prince Harry’s wife will likely recycle it.
“I’m quite sure we will see Meghan step out in outfits that she has worn before,” Nicholl said (via Daily Express). “When you are buying that sort of couture with those sorts of price tag it would be criminal not to re-wear them.”
Nicholl’s statement could be true. In fact, in March, Markle was spotted recycling outfit in Belfast. In the said sighting, the new duchess sported a Mackage coat, Victoria Beckham cashmere crewneck sweater, Greta Constantine teal midi skirt and Jimmy Choo velvet pumps. The white sweater she wore was the same top she used during her engagement photoshoot with Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Cambridge is the most popular royal to repeat her outfits. In fact, Middleton was tagged as “Thrifty Kate” for doing so. The royal mom of three has been spotted in multiple occasions wearing the same wardrobe.
For instance, in December, the powdered blue Catherine Walker suit that Middleton wore for their family holiday card was not new. Middleton was seen in the said ensemble for the first time in her solo overseas trip to the Netherlands to meet King Willem-Alexander. She recycled it on the Duchess of Cornwall’s 70th birthday. Middleton also rewears her maternity dresses.
Just like Middleton, Camilla has started rewearing her outfits too. When the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles were in Ireland, they were spotted repeating their wardrobe. In addition, when Camilla attended the second day of Royal Ascot, she just copied her entire get up at Prince Charles’ garden party in May. She wore the same mint-green dress, hat, necklace, snakeskin clutch and white gloves.
“Camilla clearly isn’t afraid of people noticing her new habit of recycling her apparel, and she looks chic and confident while doing it,” Kara Thompson, a journalist for Town & Country, wrote.
