Meghan Markle to face the ‘full wrath’ of Royal Family after Oprah Winfrey interview

MEGHAN MARKLE is to face a furious backlash from the Royal Family following her tell-all sit down with US chat show host Oprah, according to royal expert Anna Pasternak.

Meghan Markle has accused the Royals of playing an “active role” in “perpetuating falsehoods” in the latest bout of tensions between the Palace and the Sussexes. The tensions come days before Meghan and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey is aired on US network station CBS. Now royal expert Anna Pasternak has warned Meghan’s stinging attack on Buckingham Palace will not go unanswered by the Royal Family.

Ms Pasternak told BBC Radio5 Live: “I think that Meghan is going to find that, yes, there will be many people supporting her next week.

“But the wrath of the Royal Family and the establishment is not something that you look forward to.

“I think she is going to come in for a shock when this is all died down.

“As one of your listeners said it is deeply unedifying the whole thing.”

Meghan and Prince Harry sat down with the US journalist at their home in Santa Barbara.

During the interview, it has been confirmed nothing is “off-limits” with the Sussexes.

In the first trailer, released earlier this week, Oprah stated: “I just want to make it clear to everybody – there is no subject that is off-limits.”

The full video is set to air on Sunday at 8pm ET in the US and will be available to watch in the UK at 9pm on ITV the following evening.

In the latest preview, Meghan is heard speaking for the first time as she has opened up on her experience in the Royal Family.

Broadcaster Oprah asked: “How do you feel about the Palace hearing you speak your truth today?”

The Duchess of Sussex replied, claiming: “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.

“And if that comes with the risk of losing things, I mean… there’s a lot that’s been lost already.”

Following the release of the latest clip from the Oprah interview, some activists connected to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have voiced their criticism of the planned sit-down chat.

Kate Robertson, the founder of One Young World, said on Twitter: “Not having any of it. The Queen is the world’s most stunning example of duty and service.

“The Sussex’s have grievances but should sort out in person privately.

“Hurting The Queen in public is really low.”

The Duchess of Sussex has collaborated with One Young World, which is devoted to identifying, connecting and promoting young leaders from around the world, for years.

Meghan served as a counsellor during the One Young World Summits in 2014 in Dublin, and in 2016 in Ottawa.
