MEGHAN MARKLE laid her eyes on Prince Harry decades before their whirlwind romance, it can be revealed.
Meghan was 16 years old when Princess Diana was tragically killed in a car accident in Paris. Meanwhile, a devastated Prince Harry was just 12 years old when he had to watch his mother buried during a televised funeral watched by millions. Meghan herself was one of the 31 million people who sat down to watch the funeral and would have seen Harry walking behind the coffin with his brother William, father Charles and grandfather Philip.
In 2018 book ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’, biographer Andrew Morton explained how Meghan had been deeply upset by Diana’s death.
She was particularly affected by the note Harry left for his mother on top of the coffin.
He wrote: “[Meghan] and her friends watched the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, in early September 1997, tears coursing down their cheeks at the poignant moment when the camera zoomed in on the royal coffin.
“Perched among the white flowers was an envelope with one word on – ‘Mummy’ – containing Prince Harry’s last note to his beloved mother.”

He added that she felt the loss of the princess in a “keenly personal way”.
Mr Morton said: “After she heard about the tragedy, she and her friend Suzy Ardakani had sat and watched old videos of the 1981 wedding between Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.”
In this way, Meghan watched her future husband on the television when they were both still children.
At the time, Meghan was an ordinary school girl watching the third-in-line to the British throne living out his personal tragedy in front of the world.
Diana remains a part of both of their lives, with the princess’ sisters even being involved with their newborn baby’s christening.
Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes were pictured in the official christening photo between Prince William and Doria Ragland.
According to Meghan’s friend Ninaki Priddy, Meghan was “always fascinated by the Royal Family”.
She also claimed Meghan “wants to be Princess Diana 2.0″.

As a teenager, the future Duchess of Sussex was inspired by the princess’ compassionate and humanitarian work.
She and her friend Suzy even started collecting clothes and toys for less privileged children, emulating the princess’ work.
Such was her admiration of Diana, that Suzy’s mother Sonia even bought her a copy of Mr Morton’s biography ‘Diana: Her True Story’.
Little did she know that 20 years later she would be walking down the aisle with Diana’s younger son Harry.
The royal couple now have a two month old baby called Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
