Meghan Markle Not Included In Royal Family Funko Pop! Figures
The Royal Family now has Funko Pop! figures. The company revealed that their popular vinyl toys will be made in the likeness of the royal family, but Meghan Markle isn’t part of the line.
Funko’s latest collection will include Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry. The line also includes two figures for the late Princess Diana, one of which is limited edition.

Markle’s absence might not be forever. Funko noted in their release that these were the “introductory figures” to their new Pop! Royals line. Perhaps that will change once she and Prince Harry get married on May 19. After all, wedding-themed Funko Pop! dolls would likely be collector’s items.
Markle isn’t the only female in the royal family to be excluded from the line. Camilla Parker Bowles was also overlooked. The Duchess of Cornwall married Prince Charles over a decade ago in 2005.
It should be noted that the Royal Family didn’t decide to exclude Markle or Camilla from the line of dolls. They have nothing to do with the collectibles.
“These products are our fun characterization of the icons they represent, but they have not been endorsed or approved by any member of the Royal Family,” Funko stated on their website. “They do not have any connection with and are not of a type supplied to any member of the Royal Family.”
Kate Middleton’s title probably tipped off many royal family followers that these figures weren’t endorsed by officials. Whenever Kate is mentioned in official press releases, she is called Catherine.
It seems like Diana’s figures are intended to be the big seller. The Princess of Wales, who died in 1997, is the only one with two figures. One is a limited edition “chase” figure, meaning it is a one in six variant that diehard collectors will have to track down. Both feature Diana’s iconic Spencer Tiara. The figure is the only one in the Pop! Royals collection wearing a crown.
Fans will be able to add these figures to their collections of royal memorabilia starting in February.
