MEGHAN MARKLE turned 38 on Sunday but did not have an extravagant party, instead choosing to stay at home with Prince Harry and baby Archie. Here is the real reason Meghan had quiet birthday celebrations.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex celebrated her 38th birthday on Sunday but opted for a quiet family day. This was Meghan’s first birthday since becoming a mum to three-month-old Archie Harrison, and her second as a member of the Royal Family. Last year, the Duchess attended the wedding of Prince Harry’s best friend Charlie van Straubenzee.
Charlie married Daisy Jenks in Frensham, Surrey, and when Meghan arrived at the celebrations fans sang “Happy Birthday to you” and shouted birthday wishes.
Instead of travelling or having a party this year, Meghan opted to stay at home in Frogmore Cottage with her husband and son.
A source told the Sun: “Frogmore Cottage will host a celebration for Meghan’s birthday.
“The Clooney clan will be in Villa Oleandra on Lake Como and the Sussexes will not want to be seen enjoying more of their lavish hospitality after the PR disaster backlash post the US baby shower.”

Meghan faced criticism in February 2019 after flying to New York for an extravagant baby shower in an expensive hotel.
The £57,400 a night Mark Hotel, hosted Meghan’s baby shower, with close friends Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Abigail Spencer, Misha Nonoo, and Gayle King in attendance.
Then six-month pregnant Meghan spent her five-day trip relaxing, eating and seeing friends.
A source told Harpers Bazaar: “The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves.

“This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.
“It’s been a relaxing visit. Nothing beats face time with your friends.
“Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed—and with a lot of new baby clothes.”
At the time, the Duchess was criticised for acting more like an A-list celebrity than a member of the Royal Family.

For her birthday, however, celebrations were a lot more low-key, with time spent in newly renovated Frogmore Cottage with husband Harry and son Archie.
The Duke and Duchess may soon travel to Scotland with Archie, as it is understood they will spend time in Balmoral.
Meghan and Harry are said to be being given a wing of the Queen’s Scottish home for their visit and will have afternoon tea with Philip and the Queen.
Soon the family of three will fly to South Africa, where the couple have been asked to undertake a visit by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The exact dates of their trip are unknown but it will take place some time in the coming autumn.
