MEGHAN Markle fans expressed their outrage over her father’s exclusive interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain today.
In the most recent interview with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Meghan’s dad Thomas urged the Queen to help him reconnect with his daughter. Mr Markle said he believes he is being “ghosted” by Meghan and texts her everyday with no response. In the interview he said: “There has to be a place for me, I’me her father – and I will be a grandfather to her children.
“We’re family. Please reach out to me.”
But fans of the Duchess of Sussex have hit back on social media, saying Meghan’s personal business has been intruded on and that they wished the former US actress would be left alone.
Kaye Adkins on Twitter wrote: “I didn’t like this at all. I felt as though I was intruding in business that isn’t mine. Poor taste and won’t help matters. I’m sure Meghan has good reason for the estrangement and she is a grown woman.”
Carol Ann Brand tweeted: “Oh my word! I cannot imagine that Harry’s palace PR machine has allowed this to continue. Gosh, how cringeworthy. SOMEONE needs to put a stop to this. It’s appalling.”
Earlier this year it was reported Meghan had chosen not to speak to her father since before the wedding.
It came after Mr Markle participated in some staged paparazzi photographs before the Royal Wedding in May.
Speaking about Mr Markle’s inteview today, Claire Smitheram tweeted: “This is not news and not worthy of air time. It’s a family feud and should be private between them, regardless of who is right or wrong.”
Karen Coats commented: “Maybe everyone should stay out of their private lives and they might be able to try and sort things out.
“Sadly the second any approach is made it will be clear all over the press by the father and siblings giving interviews.”
Others said they believe Mr Markle should play a part in keeping family matters private.
Lee Bow tweeted: “After seeing this pathetic interview I’d cut him out of my life forever. You couldn’t trust him to keep things private.”
Some said they thought it was time Meghan spoke to her father.
Aijay tweeted: “I think there have been wrongs form both sides but Meghan really needs to be the bigger person now and reach out to her dad! Enough is enough, it’s quite embarrassing.”
In the interview when Mr Markle was asked about recent headlines that Meghan was difficult to work with, he said she “has never been rude to anyone.”
He added: “Meghan’s always been a really polite girl.”
Mr Markle explained that Meghan was raised on Hollywood stages and her personality is that of a leader.
The former reclusive lighting director said: “She’s always been very controlling person and that’s part of her nature, but she has never been rude.”
