MEGHAN MARKLE, Duchess of Sussex, has more in common with Prince Charles than being related to Harry.

The former actress isn’t the only royal to participate in the performing arts, Prince Charles also enjoyed treading boards. Decades before Meghan was on our TV screens, Charles was acting while at university. While he was at Cambridge between 1967 and 1970, the Prince of Wales was involved in Trinity College’s drama society.

As a member of the Dryden Society, Charles appeared in a wide variety of sketches performed at the University.

He also put pen to paper and wrote a number of pieces himself for the society to produce.

Speaking at a reception at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 2016, Charles said: “For me it’s always the greatest pleasure to come back to Cambridge.

“I’ve always felt so lucky to be able to study at this university.”

He added: “It all went by in a flash and I’m horrified to realise that very shortly, next year in fact, it will be 50 years since I arrived.

“All I can say is time goes past unbelievably quickly. But I enjoyed it enormously.”

In one particular role for the society Charles played a weatherman.

As well as acting Charles once spoke at a Cambridge Union debate on the “threat” of technology.
